Then the Lord said to me, “Take once more the equipment of a foolish shepherd. Then I broke my second staff Union, annulling the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the Lord, to the potter. ![]() Then the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the potter”-the lordly price at which I was priced by them. Then I said to them, “If it seems good to you, give me my wages but if not, keep them.” And they weighed out as my wages thirty pieces of silver. So it was annulled on that day, and the sheep traders, who were watching me, knew that it was the word of the Lord. And let those who are left devour the flesh of one another.” And I took my staff Favor, and I broke it, annulling the covenant that I had made with all the peoples. What is to be destroyed, let it be destroyed. But I became impatient with them, and they also detested me. In one month I destroyed the three shepherds. And I took two staffs, one I named Favor, the other I named Union. So I became the shepherd of the flock doomed to be slaughtered by the sheep traders. And I, the Lord, will be their God, and my servant David shall be prince among them. ![]() And I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd. Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the rest of your pasture and to drink of clear water, that you must muddy the rest of the water with your feet? I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord God. There they shall lie down in good grazing land, and on rich pasture they shall feed on the mountains of Israel. I will feed them with good pasture, and on the mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing land. And I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the ravines, and in all the inhabited places of the country. And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. “For thus says the Lord God : Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. ![]()
